Manual → Save from any page

Save from any page

The extension adds three ways to save, because the right one depends on what your hands are already doing.

Right-click

The context menu saves whatever you clicked on: Save page, Save link, Save image or Save video. Right-clicking an image saves the image rather than the page it happened to sit on, which is usually what you meant.

Keyboard

⌘⇧S on a Mac, Ctrl+Shift+S on Windows and Linux, saves the current tab without taking your hands off the keyboard.

The address bar

Type bm then space in Chrome's address bar to search your library from anywhere. Type bm then save and press Enter to save the open tab.

There is deliberately no button on the page itself. An earlier version injected a save button into every post on social sites. It was removed: injecting controls into someone else's page is fragile, breaks whenever they redesign, and made Findy look like part of a site it has nothing to do with.

Saving to read later

The context menu also offers Save to reading list, which puts something in a queue rather than straight into the library. ⌥⇧L (or Alt+Shift+L) opens the reading list in Chrome's side panel; click an item to read it in Findy. The toolbar badge shows how many are waiting.

Bulk imports

On Instagram Saved, TikTok Favourites and Reddit Saved, the extension also shows an import bar for bringing a whole collection over at once. Those have their own pages: Instagram, TikTok, Reddit. You can turn the bar off per site under Account → Extension settings.
