How to search your Reddit saved posts

Search the page in your browser

The quickest way on a computer: load your saves a hundred at a time, and let your browser search the page.

1. Open old.reddit.com/user/YOUR_NAME/saved/?limit=100

2. Press Ctrl+F (⌘F on a Mac) and type a word you remember from the title.

3. Not there? Press next at the bottom of the page and search again.

This only matches titles, and only the words you remember. Your saved list also ends at your 1,000 most recent saves. Where the older ones went →

Search Reddit for the post itself

If you remember the community, search Reddit with its name in front: subreddit:AskCulinary cast iron looks only in that community.

Search your data download

Reddit's data request, at reddit.com/settings/data-request, includes every save, even past the 1,000 limit. Saved posts come as a spreadsheet of links. A Reddit link carries the community and a shortened title, so searching the spreadsheet for a word from the title often finds the row. Reddit says the download can take up to 30 days.

Search by what it said

Findy brings your saved posts and comments across in one run, and reads all of them: the post text, the comment you saved, and any image. So you can search for what you remember, "the reply about sourdough starters", even when those words were never in the title. And Findy keeps the text, so a save still works after the thread is deleted.

Not on Reddit itself. Its search covers the whole site, not your saves.

Are saved comments searchable?

Not on Reddit. In Findy, a saved comment is searchable by what it said.

Why can't I find an old saved post?

Reddit's saved list stops at your 1,000 most recent saves. The data request includes all of them.
