How to organise your Instagram saved posts

Collections are the only tool Instagram gives you for saved posts. Here's how to use them well, where they run out, and how to make every save findable without filing a thing.

Make a collection

Collections live in the Instagram app on your phone or iPad. You can't make them on a computer.

  1. Open your profile and tap the menu in the top right.

  2. Tap Saved, then New collection.

  3. Name it, then tap the saved posts that belong in it, and tap Save.

To file a post as you save it, tap and hold the Saved icon under the post, then pick a collection or make a new one.

Keep them tidy

From Saved, you can add posts to a collection, move them to another, remove them, rename a collection, change its cover, or delete it. A collaborative collection lets friends add to it too.

Where collections run out

  • You can't search them. Saved has no search box. You open a collection and scroll.
  • They only hold what you filed. Everything saved before you made a collection, or saved in a hurry, sits unsorted in All posts.
  • They're phone-only. No making or managing collections on a computer.
  • They don't keep anything. A filed post still vanishes when its creator deletes it or the account goes private.

Organise them without filing anything

Findy brings your whole Instagram Saved across in one run, and your collections come with it as tags. A post you filed under "kitchens" turns up under #kitchens, next to everything you saved anywhere else.

Then the organising takes care of itself. A Space is a rule, not a folder: give it a tag, a platform or a search, and every matching save lands there, including the ones you never filed and the ones you save tomorrow.

And you can always just search. Describe what you remember, "the cabin in Norway", "green kitchen tiles", and Findy finds it, because it reads every caption and every image you've saved. Findy keeps the text and a copy of the image too, so a save still works after the original post is gone.
