How to export your Pinterest pins

Pinterest has no export button for your boards. It will send you a copy of your data, but that's a record of your pins, not the pictures. Here's what each route gives you.

Request your data from Pinterest

  1. Open Settings, then Privacy and data.

  2. Under Request your data, choose Start request.

  3. Wait for the email. Pinterest says the download link can take up to 48 hours, and sends it to the email address on your account.

Expect text: your boards, pins, descriptions and the links they point to. The images stay on Pinterest, so the archive tells you what you saved without showing it.

Save a single image

Pinterest lets you download the image from any pin, one at a time. Fine for a handful of favourites; no way to keep a few thousand.

Keep every pin, with its picture, searchable

Connect Pinterest to Findy once, through Pinterest's own sign-in, and Findy brings in your pins, each with its title, description, the link it points to, and a copy of the image. New pins keep arriving on their own every few hours. Findy never sees your password.

Then you can find any pin by describing it, "the blue kitchen with open shelves", "that linen dress", because Findy reads every image. And because Findy keeps its own copy, a pin still works after it's removed from Pinterest.

Quick answers

Can I export a Pinterest board?

Not as a board. Pinterest's data request covers your whole account, as text.

How long does Pinterest's data request take?

Pinterest says up to 48 hours. The link arrives by email.

Does the Pinterest download include the images?

No. It's a record of your pins and the links they point to; the images stay on Pinterest.
